KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION has received Net-Zero*1 accreditation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*2 in December, 2025 and the Long-Term target we set was also confirmed to be appropriate in addition to the Near-Term target already approved.
The official validated target language:
Net-Zero
KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION commits to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas
emissions across the value chain by FY2050.
Near-Term
KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG
emissions 50% by FY2030 from a FY2021 base year. KOKUSAI ELECTRIC
CORPORATION also commits to reduce scope 3 GHG emissions from use of sold
products 52% per sheet of wafer processed within the same timeframe.
Long-Term
KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG
emissions 90% by FY2050 from a FY2021 base year. KOKUSAI ELECTRIC
CORPORATION also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within

The Company Group has set the “creation of a sustainable society and the conservation of the global environment” as a materiality (important) issue and “reduction of environmental burden” as a priority subject. One of the items of these activities is the “reduction of GHG emissions,” and we have been working to achieve our greenhouse gas emission reduction target of limiting temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. In addition to the existing electricity- and energy-saving efforts to reduce energy consumption in the manufacturing process, we will promote the proactive installation of solar power generation systems and the shift to renewable energy at domestic and overseas offices, we will further strengthen our efforts to tackle climate change.
Under the corporate slogan “Technology & Tai-wa for Tomorrow,” we will pursue economic, environmental, and social values from both business and ESG (resolving environmental and social issues and strengthening governance) aspects, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of SDGs and realizing a sustainable society and our group’s sustainable development.

Net-Zero
The SBTi's definition of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. Set reduction targets at the 1.5°C level (Near-Term SBT and Long-Term SBT), and achieve them by balancing residual emissions (the emissions remaining after achieving the Long-Term target) with carbon removals.
