Selected as Constituents of MSCI ESG Investment Indexes: MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index, the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index, and the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN)

KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION (President and CEO: Kazunori Tsukada; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan)  has continued to be selected for the MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index, an ESG investment index of MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), and has been selected for the first time as a constituent of the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index and the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN).In addition, the company received an “AA” rating in MSCI’s ESG assessment for the second consecutive year.

The MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index is constructed by selecting companies with excellent ESG ratings from among the constituents of the parent index (the MSCI Nihonkabu IMI Index), with the aim of including 50% of the companies in each industry classification.

The MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index is constructed by selecting companies with superior ESG ratings from among the constituents of its parent index (the MSCI Japan IMI Index), targeting 50% of the parent index’s market capitalization within each industry classification.

The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) is a leading ESG index that selects, within each industry, companies demonstrating excellence in gender diversity and the empowerment of women.

MSCI ESG Ratings evaluate how well companies manage industry-specific ESG risks relative to their peers, using a seven-point scale ranging from “CCC” up to the highest rating, “AAA.”
