KOKUSAI ELECTRIC CORPORATION (President and CEO: Kazunori Tsukada; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan) has joined the GX Future League.

The GX Future League was established in April 2026 by inheriting the functions of the former GX League and TCFD Consortium, with the aim of creating demand for GX*1 and reducing greenhouse gas (hereinafter, “GHG”) emissions across the entire supply chain through public-private collaboration, regardless of industry, business model, or emissions volume.

Our group has been advancing initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint, including receiving Net-Zero*2 certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*3, which recognized that our GHG emissions reduction targets are science-based. By joining the GX Future League, we will further strengthen our efforts to reduce GHG emissions across our group’s value chain.

Under the corporate slogan “Technology & Tai-wa for Tomorrow,” we will pursue economic, environmental, and social values from both business and ESG (resolving environmental and social issues and strengthening governance) aspects, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of SDGs and realizing a sustainable society and our group’s sustainable development.

*1

Abbreviation of Green Transformation. An initiative to move away from dependence on fossil fuels and transition to a socio-economic system centered on clean energy such as solar and wind power.

*2

SBTi’s concept of net-zero. It means setting 1.5°C-aligned reduction targets (Near-Term SBT and Long-Term SBT) and balancing residual emissions—the impact of unreduced emissions that remain after achieving the Long-Term SBT—with carbon removals.

*3

An international initiative that promotes the setting of science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets by companies. Science Based Targets (SBTs) are greenhouse gas emission reduction targets based on scientific evidence.
