Our approach to a safe working environment
At the domestic production site Toyama Technology & Manufacturing Center, as well as at Kokusai Electric Korea Co., Ltd. in South Korea and KE Semiconductor Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China, we have obtained ISO 45001 certification as our Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and we are working to establish and maintain safe working environments for employees worldwide, including our business partners. In each workplace, risk assessments are conducted, and based on the results, measures are taken to address hazardous areas (risks). Discussions between labor and management are also held through the monthly safety and health committee to deepen communication about safety. Regarding infection prevention, the company is responding with the primary goal of preventing the spread of infections within the company, undertaking efforts to protect the safety and health of employees.
Safety Management
Disaster prevention activities
We are engaged in planned disaster prevention activities to ensure the safety of each and every employee in the event of an emergency.
The comprehensive evacuation drill for 2024 was conducted across the entire workplace, with everyone participating to learn how to evacuate and check the safety of everyone.
Also, the Self-Defense Fire Brigade is responsible for prompt initial response in case of emergencies.
We organize self-defense fire brigades together with disaster response headquarters at each business site and conduct regular disaster prevention drills to carry out preventive activities in preparation for emergencies.
Most of the new employees assigned to the Toyama Technology & Manufacturing Center and Tonami Manufacturing Center join the self-defense fire brigade. Through monthly training, we learn disaster prevention actions and foster talent who can play an active role in disaster prevention outside the company, such as guiding evacuation, firefighting, first aid, and communication reporting.
